2011 and 2009 Jimmy John’s Teams Finish 2nd at the Grinder Cinco De Mayo!

The 2011 Jimmy John’s PeeWee AA team celebrated a runner-up finish at the Spring Grinder Cinco De Mayo tournament held May 5-7, 2023. The team started the weekend with a 2-2 tie vs. Novi. On Saturday they lost to the Macomb Mavericks 2-7 and Little Caesar’s Farmington Hills by the same score, 2-7. Seeding #3 in a four-team bracket, the 2011’s overtook Macomb in a rematch winning 4-3 and earning a championship game appearance, only to fall to Little Caesar’s Farmington Hills 1-7.

The 2009 Jimmy John’s Bantam team also celebrated a runner-up finish at the Spring Grinder! The team battled hard in the championship game and the score was ties 1-1 at the end of regulation. The game then went into a 5-minute 4 v. 4 overtime. The score remained ties after the first OT so it went to a shootout where Jimmy John’s fell 1-3.
