The Jimmy John’s 2008 Red Team completed a run through the Little Caesar’s Patrick Division on Sunday, March 5.  The team finished round robin play with a 3 win, 1 loss record earning victories over the Lakeland Falcons, Sylvania Northstars, and Troy Sting.  This resulted in the ’08 Red team having the third place seed for Championship Weekend.

The ’08 Red team faced a formidable opponent in the Rockford Rams for the semi-final game on Saturday, March 4.  The team prevailed with a 3-1 victory in a hard fought game at Redford Ice Arena.  The team advanced to the Patrick Division Championship against Troy Sting at Kennedy Recreation Center in Trenton on Sunday, March 5.  ’08 Red found themselves down in the first period after conceding a goal to the Sting.  The evenly matched game featured a scoreless second period and Jimmy John’s ’08 Red trailing by one going into the third period.  Just under two minutes into the third period ’08 Red found the back of the net.  Less than two minutes later a second goal was scored putting Jimmy John’s in the lead for the first time in the game.  Back and forth action continued throughout the period and fortunately, ’08 Red buried the puck one more time with six minutes remaining.  The team put forth a great team effort and was able to hold Troy scoreless the rest of the game propelling Jimmy John’s to a victorious celebration.  Congratulations to the boys on their Patrick Division Championship and an overall successful season!
